It’s time for an evening of innovation, impact and heart: It’s The Pitch presented by Goldman Sachs and powered by PNC!
On Wednesday, April 29, five social entrepreneurs will pitch LIVE on stage at Toyota Music Factory in Irving, competing for nearly $300,000 in funding. These innovative thinkers have built local startups that tackle some of the biggest challenges in North Texas, and The Pitch is one of the biggest nights in their professional lives. You'll hear their stories—the struggles, the breakthroughs, the big ideas they've developed to improve access to education, income and health right here at home. You'll vote for your favorite. When the Social Innovator of the Year is announced and the room erupts in cheers, you'll feel something you don't get during most nights out.
Hope. Pride. The sense that real change is coming and you had a hand in it.
All the while, you'll enjoy great music, delicious food and energizing networking—while knowing that every change-maker in that room is investing in the future of North Texas just by showing up.
As one of our most dedicated supporters, we'd love for YOU to be one of them.

Mary Henderson has been a remarkable leader in both business and philanthropy, and we are thrilled to celebrate her recent retirement from Arcosa. Over the years, Mary has guided Arcosa’s UWMD campaign with dedication and vision, inspiring her colleagues and community alike to make meaningful contributions that strengthen North Texas.
Mary’s commitment to United Way spans more than 20 years as a donor, and she has been a Women of Tocqueville member for MORE THAN 10 years, using her experience, energy, and leadership to help drive impact for women and children across the region. Her contributions—both financial and through her advocacy—have been a model of generosity and engagement for others to follow.
Even in retirement, Mary’s legacy continues to shine. Her leadership with UWMD, her guidance in philanthropic campaigns, and her passion for community impact have left a lasting mark on the Women of Tocqueville community. We are grateful for her dedication and celebrate her accomplishments as she embarks on this next chapter!

Through United Way Reading Day, We’re Creating Strong Readers and Even Stronger Communities
March 6 marked this year’s United Way Reading Day presented by Atmos Energy, a very special day that brought together nearly 1,000 volunteers across more than 700 classrooms for one simple, powerful purpose: to read.
Thanks to our dedicated Women of Tocqueville Society volunteers and supporters, more than 13,000 pre-kindergarten and elementary students across 40 campuses and 11 school districts experienced the joy of storytelling—and the spark that reading can ignite in a child’s future.
Reading at grade level by third grade is one of the strongest predictors of long-term academic success. When children reach this milestone, they are far more likely to graduate, pursue higher education and achieve economic mobility, which enables them to afford quality healthcare.
