As my year as WOT Steering Committee Chair draws to a close, I want to extend my gratitude for your commitment and support of the United Way Women of Tocqueville, and the impact you have had on our community. This mighty group has not only enriched North Texas, but it has also set a powerful example of what can be accomplished and the fun that can be had when passionate women come together.
Tuesday, June 18 | 3 - 4 p.m. at North Texas Food Bank
One in eight North Texans, including one in six children, faces hunger. We're committed to improving food access to ensure that every North Texan can fully thrive. During this special WOT Service Project, we will support the work of North Texas Food Bank, which packages and distributes food to more than 400 food pantries across our region. Closed toe shoes are required, and minimal jewelry is recommended.
What a wonderful time we had celebrating your commitment and contributions as Tocqueville Society members at last month’s Gratitude Reception. Thank you for your steadfast support in furthering our mission to create access and opportunity for all North Texans to thrive. Another special thank you to our dear friends Nancy and Randy Best for graciously opening their home for the event.
The cards dealt a winning hand for North Texas at our second annual Bench & Bar “Boo-Ray” Tournament, sponsored by FTI Consulting, Kirkland & Ellis and Gibson Dunn & Crutcher. We’re truly inspired by the incredible efforts of Bench & Bar Co-Chairs Sandra Phillips Rogers and David McAtee, Tocqueville Chairs Erin Nealy Cox and Trey Cox, and the General Counsel Host Committee, to help us grow the largest Tocqueville population in the country. And we are excited to share that 20 new Tocqueville Society donors raised their hands to chart a path for all North Texans to thrive.
The March Tocqueville Fellowship marked an unforgettable experience for our 2021 cohort. One standout moment for graduate Grace Cook was learning about Bonton Farms' Tiny House Village project, which tackles the issue of affordable housing in Dallas. “Seeing the Bonton community rally like that was a real eye-opener. It just goes to show how powerful grassroots efforts can be in tackling major issues,” she recalls.
For teens looking for ways to get involved in the community, our volunteer page offers opportunities to assist with weekend food pantries, prepare grocery deliveries and provide companionship to senior citizens.
