Together, We Can Bring a Little Hope to the Hill Country
As Central Texas continues to grapple with the devastation of this month’s unprecedented floods, we are heartbroken by the number of lives lost and upended right here in our state. Our thoughts are with every individual and family impacted by this tragedy.
In the face of such immense loss, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed—but we also know that when we come together, we can begin to turn despair into hope. Right now, our neighbors need us. And every act of compassion—no matter how small—can help bring relief and healing.
If you're wondering how to help, The Texas Tribune has gathered trusted ways you can support local recovery efforts. Click the button below to make a difference for those rebuilding their lives.
Our Women of Tocqueville End-of-Year Celebration was a beautiful evening of connection, reflection, and style, hosted at the Lela Rose boutique in Highland Park Village. Surrounded by inspiring members and new friends, we gathered to celebrate all that we’ve accomplished together this year—from the progress we've made to the impact we continue to drive forward.
It was a meaningful and memorable way to close out the year—united in purpose, community, and of course, impeccable style.
Help Us Stock the School for North Texas Students on Friday, August 1
As part of our commitment to improving access to education, income, and health, we're proud to host our annual Stock the School volunteer event, part of our Aspire United Volunteer Series presented by Texas Instruments, with presenting sponsor Mr. Cooper Group and supporting sponsor Vistra. This year’s event is especially meaningful because it’s part of our year-long Centennial anniversary celebration.
On Friday, August 1, volunteers will come together at two local schools to stock essential supplies and refresh school spaces—from organizing and cleaning to remodeling teacher workrooms and installing new décor. It’s a powerful way to support both students and educators as they prepare for a new school year.
Register today to join other Women of Tocqueville and be part of the impact.
As United Way of Metropolitan Dallas celebrates our Centennial anniversary, we were honored to host a truly meaningful visit this spring from Stéphanie and Jean-Guillaume de Tocqueville in Dallas. The visit included a special Tocqueville Society Luncheon, the Bench & Bar Boo-Ray Tournament, several events at the George W. Bush Presidential Center, a visit to the Crow Library, and warm hospitality from local leaders and friends of United Way, including Mary McDermott Cook and Carol and Don Glendenning, who each hosted private gatherings in their honor.
