Since 2008, half of all advocates that have met with elected officials at the U.S. or Texas Capitol have been members of the Women of Tocqueville. Members volunteer as youth mentors, meet with Texas legislators about improving childcare standards, travel to the U.S. and Texas Capitol to advocate on Capitol Hill and much more.
Join us virtually on Thursday, March 3 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. for our annual Lunch with Legislators forum, moderated by Ross Ramsey, Co-Founder and Executive Editor of The Texas Tribune. Learn about what was filed and adopted by the Texas Legislature during the regular session and the three special sessions in the areas of education, income and health. Legislators will also share their predictions and how you can continue to support United Way’s advocacy work.
