We’ll also be giving back through an Amazon Wish List, providing meaningful resources to support and empower these students. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to rsvp@unitedwaydallas.org.
Gather with fellow Women of Tocqueville members for a fun night of mahjong — whether you're a seasoned player or just love a great cause. All proceeds go directly to supporting women and children in the Dallas community.
We were proud to welcome an exceptional group of new members at our recent Women of Tocqueville New Member Orientation. These women represent the very best of North Texas, bringing passion, expertise, and a deep commitment to creating lasting change in our community. As they step into the mighty, mighty Women of Tocqueville, they strengthen an already powerful network dedicated to advancing impact in education, income, and health across our region.
Thank you for continuing to make this community so special. We’re grateful for each of you and look forward to the meaningful work ahead—together.
A Heartfelt Celebration for New Moms Across North Texas
We’re thrilled to share that our Women of Tocqueville Baby Shower was a beautiful success!
Together, we honored 150 incredible mothers by delivering thoughtfully curated baby bags filled with both essential items and special touches to celebrate their little ones. In partnership with our outstanding partner agencies, our Women of Tocqueville community is proud to support moms across North Texas as they begin their journey into motherhood—equipped, empowered, and celebrated.
A heartfelt thank you to our generous sponsors—Contran Corporation, Kimberly-Clark, and Texas Regional Bank—for helping bring this meaningful event to life. We are equally grateful to our dedicated Women of Tocqueville community and Steering Committee members, whose passion and commitment made both the baby shower and gift bag delivery possible.
And a very special thank you to Katie Rose, Erica Austin, Vanessa Salinas Beckstrom, and Eva Hevron for their thoughtful leadership and care in creating such a memorable and impactful experience for all who attended.
Thank you to everyone who attended our Ruth Sharp Altshuler Tocqueville Society Luncheon, presented by Vistra.
It was a true pleasure to be together with a community of leaders who care so deeply about the future of North Texas.
What makes our Tocqueville Society so special isn’t just the generosity in the room—it’s the shared commitment to doing more, together. Because of you, we are creating real momentum and expanding what’s possible for our community.
We are grateful to Jim Burke, 101st United Way Annual Campaign chair and president and CEO of Vistra, and to our Honorary Tocqueville Society co-chairs, Erin Nealy Cox and Trey Cox, whose leadership continues to inspire and strengthen this work.
During the luncheon, we were honored to announce three transformational commitments:
A $5 million gift announced by Jim Burke from Vistra to launch the Pledge to Pathways initiative
A $1 million investment from Fifth Third Bank toward Pledge to Pathways
A $1 million gift from the Dr. Bob and Jean Smith Foundation supporting our Community Impact Grants, Data Capacity Building Initiative, and Endowment
Together, these gifts will strengthen our ability to expand opportunity and drive measurable impact in the communities we serve.
Thank you to everyone who attended our 4th Annual Bench & Bar “Boo-Ray” Tournament!
Thank you for attending our fourth annual Bench & Bar Boo-Ray Tournament! We were thrilled to see all of you brought your game faces for a night of friendly competition to support United Way’s mission to create a lasting impact in our community. You helped make history as the highest attended Tocqueville Society event to-date.
Special thanks to Bench & Bar Tocqueville Co-Chairs: Katie Kane (Texas Instruments), Scott Ewing (Trinity Industries) and Michele Lau (McKesson) and the GC Host Committee for hosting such a successful event!
Over the past four years, this tournament has exceeded every expectation, raising more than $700,000 and welcoming more than 60 new Tocqueville members into the United Way family.
A huge CONGRATULATIONS to our winners and a heartfelt thank you to our incredible sponsors: FTI Consulting, Reed Smith LLP, Gibson Dunn, and Sidley Austin. Your involvement and support are instrumental in our work to create access and opportunity for all North Texans to thrive.
If you'd like to learn more about Pathways to Work or any of the initiatives highlighted at the luncheon—or if someone comes to mind who shares your passion for this work and should be part of our community—we would welcome the conversation. Please reach out to your United Way representative or donorservices@unitedwaydallas.org for details.
United Way Metropolitan Dallas is hosting our Teens United Service Event and End of Year Celebration on Sunday, May 3 from 2:00–4:00 PM, and we'd love for your teen to be part of it! This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to give back to the community through a hands-on kit assembly service project — and earn 2 service hours in the process. It's also a chance to connect with other like-minded teens who are making a difference.
Looking forward, we're excited to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Tocqueville Society—a moment to honor the legacy you've helped build and the future we're shaping together. Please save the date for Wednesday, February 3, 2027, at the Fairmont Dallas. We are grateful to the Staubach family for serving as our luncheon co-chairs.
